Press Release on the occasion of the announced line-up of Green Berets for the Army Day of the Republic of BiH

The president of BOSS, Mirnes Ajanović, is sending a public appeal to the members of the Green Beret Association not to hold their announced line-up on the occasion of April 15 – RBiH Army Day with thousands of demobilized fighters and patriots in BiH cities due to the current local and global political situation.

After evident attempts of intimidation of the people in BiH by the RS Government and the use of police armored vehicles with religious symbols in public transport, all because of the panic of losing power, patriots of this country and demobilized fighters should not allow the announced line to be abused by the Republika Srpska authorities and insidiously presented as a paramilitary threat.

The ceremony of marking the Day of the Army of RBiH should be performed by institutional addresses that have the authority to mark the anniversaries of units of today's Armed Forces of BiH, which no one can legally and factually dispute. On the other hand, the line-up of the Green Berets, which has no institutional legitimacy, would be used by the enemies of the state by presenting the line-up as a paramilitary action. Therefore, the anniversary of the Army of RBiH should be marked at the academic level, within state institutions, with lectures and appropriate programs, and not by a line-up that in today's circumstances could result in abuse by the Republika Srpska authorities.

Due to all the above, we call on the representatives of the Green Berets to give up their intention to line up fighters, and to mark RBiH Army Day with lectures and commemorative events, and we invite the highest Bosniak political, academic and religious authorities among Bosniaks to join this open call, said president of BOSS Mirnes Ajanović.
